Together 4 Tomorrow: Building Hope Through Community Collaboration

In 2025, our community experienced the heartbreaking loss of several young people to suicide. Like many others, I found myself asking, What more could we have done?

As a social worker at Holton Community Hospital, I saw firsthand the impact these tragedies had on families, schools, healthcare providers, first responders, and our entire community. It became clear that no single organization could address this issue alone. We needed a coordinated, community-wide response.

That realization led to the creation of Together 4 Tomorrow, a coalition built on the belief that by working together, we can reduce stigma, promote mental wellness, and create hope for those struggling with mental health challenges.

A Community Working Together

Together 4 Tomorrow reflects the collaborative spirit at the heart of its mission.

The coalition is led by Chair Chelsea Shupe, LMSW, of Holton Community Hospital; Chair-Elect Jessica Snyder, LCP, of Psychological Health Services; Secretary Traci Smith, LMSW, of Holton Community Hospital; Treasurer Addie Larson, representing Holton Schools; and Member-at-Large Con Olson, of Jackson County EMS.

Our coalition extends far beyond its leadership team. We are proud to have representation from Community Healthcare System, Holton Community Hospital, KANZA Mental Health, Psychological Health Services, Jackson County EMS, Holton Schools, Jackson Heights Schools, Royal Valley Schools, First Baptist Church, and other community organizations and partners who share a commitment to improving the mental well-being of our residents.

Each organization brings unique expertise, allowing us to better identify community needs, coordinate resources, and work toward lasting solutions.

Promoting Mental Wellness and Preventing Suicide

The mission of Together 4 Tomorrow is to educate, empower, and support our community while promoting mental wellness and preventing suicide.

We believe mental health deserves the same attention as physical health, and that every person should feel comfortable asking for help without fear of judgment.

Throughout the year, Together 4 Tomorrow provides educational opportunities, shares local mental health resources, promotes suicide prevention awareness, supports community outreach events, and encourages open conversations about emotional wellness.

By connecting individuals with available resources and strengthening partnerships across agencies, we are building a stronger, healthier Jackson County.

Building Bridges From Struggle to Strength

Our slogan, “Building bridges as a pathway from struggle to strength,” reflects the heart of our work.

Healing begins with connection, and connection begins when communities choose to stand together.

Together 4 Tomorrow was born from tragedy, but it continues to grow through hope, collaboration, and compassion. Together, we are creating a future where every person knows they are valued, supported, and never alone—and where tomorrow is filled with possibility.
