  • Holton Community Hospital Celebrates the Achievements of Nicole Baum

Holton Community Hospital History

Nicole Baum Director of HCH Foundation 2024(Aug. 9, 2024) – We are proud to share that the Kansas Hospital Association’s Heart of Health Care Worker Award has recognized our very own Nicole Baum for her outstanding contributions to Holton Community Hospital and the broader community.

Since joining our team just over three years ago, Nicole has brought an infectious enthusiasm that has inspired both our staff and the community. As the department director for our Senior Life Solutions program, she has not only strengthened internal operations but also reached out to the community to lead positive change in mental health care. Her dedication to supporting seniors struggling with mental health concerns has made a significant impact, both within our hospital and throughout the Holton community.

Nicole’s passion for community care extends beyond her role in Senior Life Solutions. She has been instrumental in encouraging our employees to step out of their comfort zones, actively engaging with the community through talks at local schools, libraries, and senior centers. These efforts have kept health, safety, and well-being at the forefront of public discussion.

In addition to her work with Senior Life Solutions, Nicole plays a key role in our Recruitment and Retention Committee, ensuring that our employees have a strong voice in the organization. Her innovative ideas and encouragement for others to think creatively have been invaluable to our hospital.

Just over a year ago, Nicole took on the role of director of the Holton Community Hospital Foundation. Under her leadership, we’ve launched multiple new initiatives, including partnering with new community venues and organizations to support the hospital. Her efforts have strengthened our community ties and enhanced our ability to serve Holton.

One of Nicole’s standout achievements was leading our first-ever “We Are Stronger Together” Color Run, an event that brought together over 100 runners to raise awareness for various types of cancer. The event received support from City Commissioners and allowed residents to participate from their homes, truly embodying the spirit of community involvement.

Nicole also champions community initiatives like “Safe Routes to School” and various community grants, and has led heartwarming efforts such as adopting family tree gifts during the holidays and encouraging our staff to send pen pal letters to local nursing home residents.

Nicole Baum will be honored, along with other nominees for the Heart of Health Care Worker Award, at the Kansas Hospital Association Awards Luncheon during the 2024 KHA Annual Convention on Sept. 5, 2024, at the Sheraton Overland Park/Overland Park Convention Center. We are thrilled to see her hard work and dedication recognized on such a prestigious platform.

Holton Community Hospital is grateful for Nicole’s ongoing commitment to our mission of providing personalized care with a hometown heart.  Learn more about Senior Life Solutions HERE and the HCH Foundation HERE.
